About sexual violence and your rights

Everyone has the right to live a life free from violence. Despite this, many of us encounter violence at some point in our lives. It can take different forms, such as physical, psychological, or sexual. Most of us develop strategies to avoid violence or to prevent finding ourselves in situations that could lead to it.

We who work with people who need support in their daily lives know that many of them are exposed to various forms of violence and that many lack strategies to protect themselves.

Something has happened was a project funded by Arvsfonden (the Swedish Inheritance Fund) aimed at facilitating conversations about sexual violence. The goal was to support each other, gain knowledge, and learn about available help.

The website nagotharhant.se primarily targets people with intellectual disabilities. Everything on the site has been developed and designed to suit this specific audience: the text is written in easy-to-read Swedish, the amount of content, the appearance of images, and which information is highlighted. During the development of the site and its content, various reference groups provided feedback on both content and functionality.

For people who need adapted information to access the content, it is important to have multiple ways of receiving the same information. Therefore, on nagotharhant.se, you can read, listen to, and watch the same story.

Conference on Sexualized Violence

On September 22, 2020, Something has happened organized an online training day about methods, strategies, and guidelines for work against sexualized violence.

The conference was aimed at professionals working with people with intellectual disabilities, domestic violence, and/or SRHR (sexual and reproductive health and rights).

The project was funded by the State Inheritance Fund.
